A nationally-known wedding and portrait photographer, Marni’s work is distinguished by her perceptive eye and ease at making people comfortable in front of the camera. In Marni’s skilled hands, the lens becomes a story-teller, capturing candid moments revealing depth and personality, whimsy and beauty.
Originally from Washington DC, she earned her Master of Fine Arts in photography from Virginia Commonwealth University and works from her studio in her adopted hometown of Charleston, SC. Her photography appears regularly in numerous print and online publications, including Charleston Weddings, The Knot, Inside Weddings and Wedding Style.
Marni loves the pace and excitement of photographing weddings. “I get to witness and record the most exciting and meaningful day in someone’s life. Even if I’ve shot at the same venue a hundred times, the light, the color palette, the songs, the sweets, the people and all the special details are always unique. It’s my privilege to be a part of it.”
Marni is also a huge fan of all things French, seersucker suits, hot and steamy Charleston summers and anything in and around salt water, especially sailing. On her rare Saturdays off you can find her cooking banana pancakes for her husband and two little boys, perusing produce at the downtown Charleston farmer’s market or enjoying a glass of wine with friends at FIG restauraunt.
